New Music Alert!

Sarah Blackwood

‘Drowning’

Sarah Blackwood is straddling both sides of the “Digital vs Physical Copy” music debate with her newest project. Her digital download, ‘Drowning’ is the first of four singles to be released online over an eight week span before being made available on vinyl in the new year.

Drowning‘ features the simplistic acoustic guitar styling Sarah’s become known for in her solo work (a far cry from her position as The Creepshow’s lead lady). And while she still talks of whiskey, devils and heartache, she’s traded her marked country twang for a softer, singer-songwriter vibe; upbeat strums for a poignant violin. The minimalist melody (matched perfectly by the video) penetrates the subconscious, leaving a lasting impression.

Go here to add ‘Drowning’ to your digital library. (It’s PWYC, but don’t be cheap. Independent Canadian artists can never be compensated enough.)
