Who Predicts Short Lists?
I predict short lists! Sing it with me now!
Anyone who’s anyone in the Canadian music industry has to give their two cents worth when it comes to the Polaris Music Prize. So, naturally I’m gonna weigh in on who I think should make the Short List cut today…
I’ve yet to master complete pretentiousness, so these choices are based on what I actually like (the nerve!), buzz I’ve heard and patterns I’ve seen in years past. Here it is in alphabetical order:
1. Arcade Fire- The Suburbs
2. Austra- Feel It Break
3. Black Mountain- Wilderness Heart
4. Braids- Native Speaker
5. Dirty Beaches- Badlands
6. Galaxie- Tigre et Diesel
7. Jenn Grant- Honeymoon Punch
8. Imaginary Cities- Temporary Resident
9. Land of Talk- Cloak and Cipher
10. Malajube- La Caverne
Tune into Radio 3 at 2pm on July 6th to see just how wrong I am.
